Adjacent to to the high bay area there is an assembly area with over head crane. This had been used for:
- Brookhaven E852 construction
- Radphi calorimeter refurbishment
- ATLAS module testing
- QuarkNet research
- D0 Fiber optics assembly
It now contains an X-ray box about 2m x 2mx 0.5 meters containing two 110kev, 3 ma xray sources, used for high radiation studies of ATLAS components and tracking modules.
