Clean Room in the High-Bay Area

In the high-bay area is a 118 m2 clean assembly room that has been certified as a class 10k clean room. There is an additional 48 m2 enclosed, clean assembly area adjacent to the main clean room. These two areas are currently being used for ATLAS barrel transition radiation tracker module production. A total of 10 PC's are used for shipping and receiving, automated assembly and inspection, quality assurance, and data acquisition in these two areas. There is a Zeiss three-axis coordinate measuring machine which has a approximately one micron resolution, a ventilation hood for mixing glues and chemicals, a number of large optical tables, and specially designed fabrication tooling for the TRT barrel module production in this area. The high-bay area has full coverage by overhead crane and is adjacent to a truck loading area and a forklift.
